Brown Road (Residential) DPA proposed
Council resolved to endorse the preparation of a Developer Funded Development Plan Amendment (DPA) report to rezone a small section of land at the southern end of Part Lot 60 Brown Road, Carrickalinga from Primary Industry to Residential Zoning.

Public Consultation process commenced
A six week public consultation process finished on 16 June 2014 and a public meeting was held on Thursday 19th June to hear verbal presentations from respondents. A total of 45 written submissions were received.

DPA process continues
Work on the DPA was suspended because of the Caretaker period leading up to the November 2014 Council elections and to enable a Section 270 Internal Investigation to be undertaken into the DPA in response to a request by the Carrickalinga Ratepayers Association.
Council resolved to publish the Landscape and Visual Analysis report prepared by Wax Design and move to the next step in the DPA process.

Recommended changes to the DPA
Council's administration provided an assessment of a number of technical issues in relation to the DPA. A summary of the public submissions and recommended policy responses were considered by the Strategic Directions committee.

Landscape Character and Visual Assessment reports considered
The Landscape Character and Visual Assessment reports prepared by Wax Design and Oxigen, (landscape architects) were considered by the Strategic Directions committee.
The committee resolved to recommend a number of changes to the DPA in response to administration recommendations, the issues raised during the public consultation process and consideration of the above reports.

DPA sent to Minister for Planning
The final DPA containing the amendments that respond to the issues raised during the public consultation has now been sent to the Minister for Planning seeking the authorisation of the amendment.
