The SASRS have in the past accommodated their equipment (tow vehicle, trailer and equipment) in a temporary boat shed at the Wirrina Marina since 2005, but are now required to relocate to another facility.
Discussions have been held between Council planning & governance staff in relation to the possible relocation. Yankalilla Country Fire Service & State Emergency Service members have met with SASRS and have agreed to support SASRS proposal to seek a lease for a shed to be constructed and co located with their units.
It is proposed that if SASRS will erect a new shed if their request is successful. The attached plan shows its preferred location and the dimensions and style of the shed. Through the development application process an application would be submitted to the Planning department for approval.
